After School Program
Thrive Baltimore organized and ran an after school athletic program at Battle Grove Elementary School focusing on basic athletic skills and personal character development.
Perch-A-Thon
Funds were raised for the Dundalk Middle School through an innovative community event called the Perch-A-Thon. We worked with the Moose Lodge of Dundalk to create an opportunity for the community to come together and support this fund raising effort. The Perch-A-Thon centered on an individual perched atop a 100 foot man lift for a 24 hour period of time with the final 6 hours including a festival with food, bounce houses, slides, and carnival games. Loyola College donated a computer for every hour spent in the man lift to the Dundalk Middle School computer lab.
Trunk or Treat
Dundalk Middle School was the benefactor of a huge Halloween party where children and families trick or treated among decorated car trunks in a safe and family friendly environment. Other activities included carnival games, pizza, tons of candy, and bounce houses.
School Supply Drive
Thrive Baltimore has collected and distributed school supplies to area middle and grade schools for several years as the school year gets underway. We teamed with several organizations to provide book bags and much needed supplies to area title 1 schools.
The Christmas Project
Christmas offers many service opportunities as families face the holiday season. The Christmas Project matches family needs with individuals and organizations having the resources to meet those needs. Children who would go without Christmas presents experience the joy of receiving beautifully wrapped gifts on Christmas morning.
Eastpoint Mall Fall Festival
Thrive Baltimore partnered with the Eastpoint Mall to provide an inside carnival while children trick or treated in the mall.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Turkeys and all the fixings were collected and distributed to families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday.
PondSkipper 5K
This annual hallmark event raises money for a variety of organizations in the Dundalk community. Past recipients have been the Wise Avenue Fire Department, Center for Pregnancy Concerns, and the Family Crisis Center.
